Whether students look at prom as a rite of passage, or a fantasizing experience, it is bound to come within a student’s high school career. Prom easily becomes expensive from funding hair and makeup stylists to buying the right attire and RHS now has an easier way for seniors to cover these funds.

Fayette Regional Care Pavillion Prevention Services will be awarding RHS seniors $125 to help with their prom expenses. One male and one female will be chosen. The only requirement to participate is through writing a short essay explaining how to prevent or reduce harmful behaviors that students face on a daily basis. The prevention topics are:

  • Bullying
  • Suicide
  • Substance Abuse
  • Dropping Out
  • Teen Pregnancy

The rules for the contest include:

  • Students must be an RHS senior
  • Student chose one approved topic (Essay should include steps for prevention)
  • Must be typed
  • Two pages (Double spaced)
  • Due Date: Noon – Monday, April 8, 2019 at the RHS office
  • Must include: Name, phone number, age, gender and grade

The winners will be announced on Monday, April 15, 2019.
