The Register online has started a new series of “Students of the Week,” where teachers nominate students from every grade who deserve recognition for doing an excellent job. These are the following students who have been chosen for the week of 2/11/19 through 2/17/19. We will update the series every Monday.
9th Mallory Sparks
Mallory is in band and chamber choir.
English teacher Cammi Fulvi had this to say about Mallory – “Mallory is always on top of things. She gets her work done, and does it well, and is always willing to participate in class (answering questions, helping pass papers out) while maintaining a positive attitude.”
10th Baylee Day
Baylee is in Student Council and participates in Drama Club.
Orchestra director Lauren Gruber nominated Baylee based on these reasons – “Baylee has really gone above and beyond this week in class working with a partner in preparing for a performance. Baylee’s pleasant disposition and work ethic have made her successful in the classroom. I wish more students worked as diligently and persevered like Baylee.”
11th Jordan Murray
Jordan played varsity soccer and is a part of the Automotive Program.
English teacher Brian Bennett nominated Jordan based on these reasons – “Jordan worked with the automotive class to fix my car and then has asked a ton of great questions as we closely read the Great Gatsby. I think that is a really cool combination that we should want from all our students- obviously, showing hands on really technical learning that will serve him well in the future, but also able to grasp more abstract ideas and ask really probing questions about a famed piece of American literature.”
12th Daniel Tran
Daniel is an officer in HOSA.
Biomed teacher Heidi Hisrich nominated Daniel based on these reasons – “He’s an amazing HOSA leader and is always willing to help out as an officer. He brings so much personality to our HOSA group, volunteers for every event and is always positive to be around and someone I can depend on.”

I'm Jasmin Lykke, a foreign exchange student from Denmark. I work as a reporter and co-online editor. I ran varsity cross country, and will run varsity track in spring. After college, I'll join the danish military or continue working in the beauty industry. I'm in love with the US's culture and people, and might move here one day.
