Frank Carr resigned on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Carr had been the athletic director at Richmond since 2014 and coached at Earlham for the 30 years prior. Carr has not given any information as to why he resigned and Principal Rae Woolpy could not comment on the situation.

Saturday March 18, the Devilettes performed in their last IHSCGA competition of their 2016-17 winter guard season. Their show titled, A sky full of stars, placed third in state earning a bronze medal out of the 76 guards competing in class A.
